Balanced scoring leads women's basketball to victory

- The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team picked up an 81-66 victory over Henderson State on Saturday evening at the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar, Mo.
- The Bearcats is now 2-0 on the year while Henderson State falls to 0-2. It was the first all-time meeting between the programs.
- Five Northwest players scored in double figures and three players grabbed eight rebounds.
- Arbrie Benson, Macy Williams and Jasmin Howe all finished the evening with 14 points a piece.

Key Northwest Sequences
- Midway through the second quarter, Northwest extended its lead to double-figures for the first time. McAndrews and Shull hit back-to-back three pointers. The Bearcats would cap the 8-0 run with free throw makes from Shull and Williams to go up 36-23 with 3:29 to go in the first half.

- Up by 10 late in the second quarter, Northwest went on an 8-0 run to close out the half strong. A Williams free throw put the Bearcats up 40-28 with 1:44 left. Howe hit her fourth three-pointer of the half on the next possession and Benson added a layup with 46 seconds left to give Northwest a 45-29 lead at the break. After halftime, Meyer started the scoring with a layup 19 seconds in to go up 47-29.
