- The Northwest Missouri State University football team defeated Central Missouri, 42-17, on Saturday evening at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
- The 2016 Fall Classic marked the 13th time Northwest has played at Arrowhead. The Bearcats are 10-3 all time. It was the first time UCM has played at Arrowhead.
- No. 22 ranked UCM falls to 3-2 on the year while No. 1 Northwest improves to 5-0.
- The Bearcats racked up 488 yards of total offense, 204 coming on the ground. UCM gained 285 total yards and were held to 84 on the ground.

Phil Jackson II had 97 yards rushing on 15 carries with two touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 13 yards giving him 110 total yards of offense on the day.

Kyle Zimmerman was 24-of-33 with two touchdown passes. He threw for 275 yards and also ran the ball four times for 19 yards.
- Northwest has now won 20 consecutive games, the third longest streak in program history.

- The Bearcats picked up 27 first downs, 18 coming through the air.
- On third down conversions, Northwest was 10-for-14 while holding the Mules to just 4-of-13.

Jack Young recorded his eighth career interception on a Garrett Fugate errant pass in the third quarter. He finished with six tackles and an assisted tackle for loss.

Edward Richey had six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Anthony Lane each had pass breakups defensively. Berg finished the day with seven total tackles.

Matt Thorman was called on to punt just twice and the sophomore responded by hitting kicks that were caught at the UCM eight and 12 yard lines, respectively.
Northwest Scoring Drives
- Jackson capped an eight-play, 45 yard drive late in the first quarter with a one yard touchdown run. Northwest took the ball all the way down to the one yard line and punched it in on fourth down.
Shawn Bane Jr., Grove and Sehl all had 10+ yard receptions on the drive which started on the UCM 45 after the Bearcat defense forced a three-and-out.
- Northwest's defense forced another three-and-out at the start of the second quarter and took over at its own 37 yard line. On second and two, Zimmerman found
Sha'Corey Foster for a 27 yard reception down the left sideline to push the ball into UCM territory. Five plays later, Zimmerman found
Shane Williams on a 13 yard pass on third down to make it 14-7 Northwest.
- The Bearcats converted three third down conversions to score with just 39 seconds left in the first half, giving Northwest a 21-14 lead at the break. Zimmerman found Wilson for a 13-yard strike to convert a third and eight to extend the drive. Facing a third and four, Zimmerman connected with Sehl for a seven-yard gain down to the UCM 19. On third and two from the four yard line, Wilson got open in the back of the end zone for his first touchdown catch of the year.
- After UCM went three-and-out on its first possession of the second half, Northwest went 52 yards on six plays to go up 28-14. On third and three from the Mules' 34 yard line, Wilcox got loose for his first touchdown of the day to make it 28-14 Bearcats.
- Young's interception set the Bearcats up on their own three yard line at the end of the third quarter. Northwest put together the game's longest drive, marching 94 yards in 12 plays which was capped by Jackson's second touchdown from six yards out to make it 35-14. Jackson had a 35-yard run on the first play of the drive and also had first down rushes of 11 yards and 10 yards.
- UCM's field goal in the fourth quarter made the score 35-17.
Dre Washington took the kickoff back 26 yards to the Northwest 34 yard line where the Bearcats would put together the game's final scoring drive of 66 yards on 12 plays. Again, Northwest came up big on third down, converting three times. The big play of the drive came on first down at the Bearcat 44 when Zimmerman found Grove over the top for a 21 yard strike into UCM territory. On second and goal from the eight, Wilcox got in for his second score with 1:07 left in the fourth quarter.
