Key Innings- The Bearcats got on the board in the fourth inning after
James Holler led off with a single to left. Holler advanced to third after a sacrifice bunt by
Paul Johnson and
Derek Meyer's groundout to second. He came in to score after
Garrett Fort reached on an error by the shortstop.
- After the Mules tied the score in the bottom of the eighth, Northwest retook the lead in the ninth. Fort and
Nick Gotta drew back-to-back walks and both moved into scoring position on
Austin Wulff's groundout. Fort crossed the plate on a passed ball to score the winning run.
Carson Smith came in to pitch the ninth and recorded three straight fly ball outs to secure the Bearcat victory.
Up Next- The series at Central Missouri will continue tomorrow with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. The final game in Warrensburg is scheduled for Monday, March 9 with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
