The play was upheld on video review and Northwest went into the locker room down, 36-25.

- Three minutes into the second half, Northwest found itself down, 41-27. But The Bearcats responded with a tough 15-4 run to cut the deficit all the way down to three, 45-42, with 10 minutes left to play. Matt Wallace had a couple of defensive stops and hit a couple of tough shots. Lyle Harris found room down the lane and hit two big layups, including an and one. Pitts capped the run with a layup after in the lane for his 24th point.

- With 5:50 left in the game, Northwest tied the game, 51-51, on a Connor Crooker layup. The Mavericks took their final lead of the game with 5:07 left on a free throw, 53-51, before Lyle Harris hit a free throw, recorded a steal and hit a layup to put Northwest up by one, 54-53.
