- With the score tied at six, the Bearcats made three offensive rebounds to extend a possession five minutes into the game. Taryne Shull grabbed two offensive boards and Taylor wrestled one away before finding Macy Williams at the top of the key, who drained a three. Taryne made a steal on the ensuing Viking possession before Taylor hit a driving layup, putting the Bearcats in front, 11-6.

- After trailing by as many as 14 in the second quarter, Northwest closed the gap to five, 52-47, at the end of the third period when Tanya Meyer hit a layup off an inbounds pass from Williams. The Bearcats used a 14-2 run to open the final period to take the lead for good. Maria Dentlinger hit a 10-foot jumper from the baseline off a Williams pass to get the Bearcats within three. Taylor Shull made a steal on the defensive end and found Jasmin Howe on the left wing, who tied the game with a clutch trey. Tanya Meyer gave the Bearcats their first second half lead two minutes later when she hit a turnaround layup. On the next possession, Dentlinger knocked down her second jumper of the quarter to put the Bearcats in front by four. A Viking basket momentarily closed the gap to two, but it ballooned back to seven when Tanya Meyer hit a three and a layup on consecutive possessions.
