Bearcats power past Lindenwood in sweep


Story Headlines
- The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over Lindenwood on Friday at Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo.
- Northwest hit .298 for the match and moved to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in MIAA play. The Lions fall to 8-8 overall and 1-5 in conference action.
- Three Bearcats recorded double-digit kill totals led by Maddy Bruder (18), Jackie Becker (11) and Miranda Foster (10).
- Bruder hit .545 and did not record an attacking error in the winning effort. She tied for a match high with 13 digs defensively.
- Becker hit .476 with just one error. She also had a block assist on the evening.

- Foster also added seven digs and a pair of blocks for Northwest.
- Libero Aarika Wittenburg had 12 digs for Northwest with a pair of assists.
- Setter Sarah Dannettell added a match-high 42 assists with six digs and a pair of kills.
- Alexis Williams had a match-high three block assists defensively.
- Northwest's best set came in the second, tallying 17 kills while hitting .333. The Lions were limited to just a .054 attack percentage that set.

Key Northwest Sequence
- The Bearcats fell behind 15-12 in the third set after Dannettell was called for a handling error, but Northwest bounced back with a kill from Darcy Sunderman off a feed from Dannettell to pull back within two, 15-13. Sunderman and Becker came up with a block on the next play to make it 15-14. After another kill from Sunderman to tie the match, 15-15, the Lions were called for a bad set to give the Bearcats the lead, 16-15. The two teams would trade points and eventually tie the match, 18-18. Northwest would score the next three points and never trail for the rest of the match, en route to the three-set sweep.
