First Half Key Stats- The Bearcats got off to a slow start, giving up three early corner kicks to the Griffons.
- Northwest was able to pull through and score the first goal of the match in the 21st minute when
Elizabeth Lee sent a perfect corner into the box. Phillips leaped over the defenders and headed into the net to take the lead.
- Malloy was busy in the first period, making four of her saves in the first half.
- Missouri Western tied it up when Tara Russell scored from close range in the 33rd minute.
Second Half Key Stats- The Bearcats turned up their defense a notch in the second half, yielding just two shots after giving up 10 in the first half.
- Northwest had put themselves into position to score several times, taking six shots of their own.
- Taylor Grant took two corner kicks in the final minute of the match with a chance for a late goal, but the Griffon defense stood their ground.
Overtime Key Stats- Missouri Western held possession for the majority of the overtime periods, taking five shots.
- The Bearcats kept their composure and found themselves in striking distance in the first period, but the shot was saved.
Turning Point of the Match- Malloy made a diving save in overtime that preserved the result for the Bearcats.
