Volleyball rallies for home opening victory

- Northwest rallied from two sets down to defeat Lindenwood, 3-2, on Tuesday evening at Bearcat Arena.

- Northwest dropped the first two sets, each by scores of 25-18. The Bearcats rallied for a third set win, 25-17, and tied the match in the fourth set with a 25-16 win.
- In the fifth set, Northwest held a slim 12-11 lead but the Bearcats got a timely block from Sarah Dannettell and Jackie Becker to pull ahead 14-11. On the third match point, Foster put away her 21st kill of the evening to seal the win.
- Foster had a game-high 21 kills to go along with a game-best 18 digs. She also had two block assists and a service ace.
- Alexis Williams had 12 kills and hit .588 for the match, committing just two attacking errors. She also tied Jackie Becker with five block assists.
- Natalie Gora had 10 kills on the evening.
- Sarah Dannettell had a game-best 48 assists and added 10 digs, three blocks and three block assists.
- Bailey Vance had 10 digs, two assists and a service ace.
- The Bearcats' best set offensively came in the fourth with 13 kills to five errors for a .235 hitting percentage.
- Defensively, Lindnwood was held to a .048 attack percentage in the third set and a .062 percent in the fourth set.

Key Sequence
- In the third set, Northwest and Lindenwood were tied at 10-10 after a Bailey Vance service error. But Northwest strung together three stright points and would score nine of the next 14 points to pull ahead in the match for good. After that sequence, the Bearcats never trailed in the set and would go on to win the next two sets to claim the match.

Up Next
- The Bearcats will host a weekend MIAA homestand beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. against Washburn Univeristy. On Saturday, Northwest will host Emporia State at 6 p.m. There will be free admission to Saturday's match.
