Box Score 2 JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State softball team snapped a four game losing streak Friday as they swept Lincoln in both games of a double header taking game one, 8-2, and then game two, 10-5.
Chantel Adams got her team on the board first with a solo home run in the top of the second inning. LU answered back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning.
The Northwest bats opened up for two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in the sixth and one more in the top of the seventh.
Abbie Vitosh held the Blue Tigers offense in check allowing 2 runs, only one earned run, while striking out four in the 8-2 victory. Vitosh picked up her seventh victory of the season.
Torri Blythe and Steph Mark combined to go 5 for 9 with two doubles, four RBI's and two runs scored.
The bats were out in game two for the Bearcats as they totaled 10 runs on 14 hits in the seven inning affair taking game two, 10-5.
Taszia Roseberry, Baylee Scarbrough and Mark all hit home runs in the second game. Blythe was 2 for 3 with a double, two RBI's and grabbed her, team leading, 19th stolen base of the season.
Sarah Baldwin picked up her ninth win of the season in the victory. Baldwin struck out five while allowing five runs.
The win was number 300 of Head Coach Ryan Anderson's career. Anderson has been at Northwest since 2007 and has collected 186 victories since then.
Northwest moves their season record to 18-24, 11-9 on the season. The Bearcats will continue their final road trip of the season as they take on Lindenwood Saturday in a MIAA double header. First pitch in game one is scheduled for noon.
