MIAA Press ReleaseKANSAS CITY, Mo. - 48 Bearcat football athletes have been named on the 2014 Academic Honor Roll, which was released Thursday by the conference office.
In order to be listed on the honor roll, a student must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher through at least two full semesters at Northwest.
In addition to being named on the honor roll, three athletes were given the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, which was given to 24 players in the conference. The athlete must hold a 3.5 GPA in the classroom and receive All-MIAA honors.
Senior punter
Kyle Goodburn received the award after accumulating a 3.58 GPA as a business management major. Senior wideout
Bryce Young was given the award after earning a 3.7 GPA, also as a business management major. The final Bearcat to receive the award was fellow senior linebacker
Eric Reimer. Reimer has earned a 3.92 GPA as a business management major.
Northwest Missouri State's 48 athletes listed on the honor roll led the conference. Next was Pittsburg State with 44 honorees.
