Volleyball closes season with win at Lindenwood

- The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team defeated Lindenwood, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo.
- The match was the final contest of the season for the Bearcats who finished the season with an 11-19 overall record, going 8-14 in MIAA play.
- Lindenwood finishes the year 5-25 overall and 2-20 in conference action.
- Assistant coach Alana Wittenburg won her first career match, filling in for Amy Woerth who did not travel with the team. Woerth and her husband are expecting their first child.

- Northwest dropped the first set, 27-25, but rebounded to win the next three by scores of 27-25, 26-24 and 25-10.
- The Bearcats were led by Miranda Foster who had a match-high 18 kills and hit .333. Foster also had 19 digs, two blocks and a service ace.
- Jackie Becker had 16 kills to go along with four digs, three blocks and two service aces. Becker hit .387 for the match.
- Shelby Duren also reached double-digit kill totals, recording 11 to go along with nine digs, a service ace and a block.
- Sarah Dannettell had a match-best 50 assists, six digs, four blocks and three kills.
- Libero Bailey Vance had 20 digs and four assists in her final match at Northwest.
- The Bearcats hit .283 as a team and held the Lions to just a .174 attack percentage.
- Northwest had 11 team blocks to Lindenwood's 10.
- The Bearcats' best set came in the third, hitting .317 with 17 kills and just four errors.
- Lindenwood hit -.176 in the final set, committing 10 errors.

Key Sequence
- In the fourth set, Northwest held a 16-10 advantage in the fourth set, already up 2-1 in sets. With Kirsten Hudgens on service, Northwest rallied for nine straight points to close out the match. Shelby Duren had four kills in the sequence. Jackie Becker finished the match with a kill from Dannettell.
