MARYVILLE, Mo.-No. 16 Southwest Baptist scored 18 points in five overtime minutes to get past Northwest Missouri State 92-83 Saturday at Bearcat Arena. Tomas Brock led six Southwest Baptist players scoring in double figures with 19 points.

Northwest Missouri State scored 12 consecutive points in the final three minutes of regulation to force the extra period. The green Bearcats took three three-pointers in the final minute that would have given them the lead. The game-tying bucket came on a put back by Arunas Simanavicius with :05 seconds left off a three-point miss by Girod Adams.

Southwest Baptist drew fouls on its first three possessions of overtime and made 5-of-6 to take an 81-76 lead. The purple Bearcats made 12-of-13 free throws in the extra period.

Matt Rogers scored 17 points and had 18 rebounds for Southwest Baptist. He also led the team with five assists. Tristan Steele came off the bench to score 16 points for the purple Bearcats.

Southwest Baptist had an obvious height advantage, but it was Northwest''s 5-foot-8-inch freshman DeShaun Cooper who stole the show. Cooper scored a career-high 23 points including 14 in the paint. He also handed out five assists and had five of Northwest''s 17 steals.

Elijah Allen and Girod Adams scored 16 points each for the green Bearcats and combined to score 10 of Northwest''s 12 points in the final three minutes of regulation. Simanavicius finished with seven points and a career-best six steals.

Southwest Baptist led 41-31 at halftime and outrebounded Northwest 45-32. Northwest didn''t attempt a free throw in the first half, but finished 21-of-28 from the line. Adams, the nation''s fifth-best free-throw shooter, extended his free throw''s made streak to 29 before missing with two minutes to go in regulation.
