SAN ANTONIO, Texas-Northwest Missouri State forward Elijah Allen scored a career-high 18 points and Hunter Henry added 13 to lead the Bearcats to a 71-49 win against Eastern New Mexico Sunday at the River City Classic hosted by St. Mary''s University.

Northwest finished 1-1 at the Classic and is 5-5 overall heading back to MIAA play Dec. 29.

The Bearcats shot 59 percent from the field compared to 37 percent for the Rattlers (2-8). Egus Darby and Aaron King led Eastern New Mexico with eight points each.

The Rattlers missed their first eight shots and committed four turnovers in the games first six minutes. Allen and Henry, meanwhile, combined to score the first eight points of the game.

Northwest, which never trailed, led by as many as nine in the first half and by four, 30-26, at the half.

Henry and Allen started the second half with back-to-back three-point plays to quickly extend the Bearcats'' lead to 10. Edriss Floyd later knocked down two of his three 3-pointers to give Northwest a 58-43 lead with six minutes remaining. The Rattlers totaled six points in the game''s final six minutes.

Floyd finished with 11 points and DaJuan Harris added 11 more for Northwest. Mike Larsen had seven points and seven assists.
