Northwest Defeats Principia By 75 Points

MARYVILLE, Mo. - ( stats) Northwest Missouri State men''s basketball team dominated the Principia Panthers with a 111-36 victory. The win is the largest margin of victory since a 77-point win on Nov. 19, 2004, as the Bearcats shot 64.7-percent from the field tonight. In the second half, Northwest hit six consecutive 3-pointers, getting three from sophomore guard Clint McFall. The 36 points allowed is least since allowing 28 to Calvary Bible on Dec. 5, 2002. Every active player scored. Seven Bearcats recorded at least 10 points for the first time since Nov. 11, 1999 against Lincoln University.

Sophomore Hunter Henry notched his third double-double of the season as he poured in 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Hunter shot 8-of-12 from the field tying his career best for field goals made. Junior Dillon Higdon scored 16 points in just 12 minutes of action due to an ankle injury suffered with 7:17 left in the first half. Redshirt freshman Lance Sullivan scored 13 points, hitting three 3-pointers, both career-highs.

Only one Panther player entered double-digit scoring as Chris Watts logged 11 points. Principia recorded only five steals, but turned the ball over 25 times. They shot 33-percent from the field and only went to the free throw line once all night hitting 1-of-2 at the charity stripe.

The win gives Northwest a 5-1 start to the season. They will take on St. Mary (Kan.) on Mon., Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. It will directly follow the women''s game that begins at 5:30 p.m.
