If we were looking to save time this evening, it might be quicker to just list the things that Hunter Henry DIDN’T DO for the Bearcat men’s basketball teams of the middle-2000s. Because when the game began, Hunter was in the mix of just about everything that took place on the floor.

Many players excel in particular segments of the game, showing an ability to focus on a specific set of skills to become an elite scorer, passer, rebounder or defender. Well Hunter was able to excel at each of these areas. He ranks as the Bearcats 6th all-time leading scorer, is 7th in career steals, 3rd all-time in career rebounds and is 2nd in career blocked shots. He even recorded 149 career assists demonstrating an ability to involve his teammates as well.  His name is prominently featured throughout the record book in numerous individual game and single season marks as well.  One of only six men’s basketball student-athletes to earn league MVP honors, he was a key figure in an MIAA regular season and tournament title during his tenure along with three trips to the NCAA tournament.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Lenexa, Kansas earned numerous selections to All-Region and All-American teams and was the 10th Bearcat in school history to reach 1,000 points and 500 rebounds for a career.  He was a matchup nightmare for the opposition and pivotal piece to maintaining a basketball tradition that continues still today.
