You will rarely find a position in any sport that is measured more on team results and team stats than that of an offensive line in football.  The men that play these positions take their pride, not only in their own play, but in the accomplishments of their offensive teammates.
 
In the late 1990s, Andy Erpelding and his fellow offensive lineman, had a lot to be proud of when it came to Bearcat football. A versatile member of the line, he was thrown in to the fire as red-shirt freshman in 1997 and responded by starting every game at right tackle. As needs changed along the line, he found himself shifted to the all-important left tackle position later on in his career.  
 
The Davenport, Iowa native ended each season with an MIAA title, a trip to the NCAA playoffs and twice he reached the pinnacle with a national title following his sophomore and junior campaigns.
 
It was not just team success that defined Andy. He was twice selected as a first team All-MIAA performer and earned Daktronics First Team All-American and a second team D2Football.com All American status in 2000.
 
During Erpelding’s tenure on the line he helped fuel an offense that featured a 4,000 passer and multiple 1,000 yard rushing and receiving seasons. In his four years, the Bearcats ranked tops in the MIAA in total offense and scoring offense in 3 of the 4 years.
 
During his junior and senior seasons he was part of a 24-game winning streak and he never lost an MIAA regular season game finishing a perfect 36-and-O during that span.  In fact, he only found his team on the short end on the scoreboard three total times during the four years.
