The 2013-14 Bearcat men's tennis team became the first squad in program history to reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II national championship tournament. Northwest produced a season mark of 19-4 overall and 5-0 in MIAA dual action. The Bearcats captured the MIAA regular season and tournament titles. Under the direction of head coach Mark Rosewell, the Bearcats knocked off Northwood (Mich.) in the NCAA round of 16 in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The Bearcats season came to an end with a 5-1 dual loss to Armstrong Atlantics in the national quarterfinals. Romain Boissinot was named the MIAA Freshman of the Year and five Bearcats earned first-team all-MIAA honors in singles including Boissinot (No. 2 singles), Alvaro Riveros (No. 3 singles), Lluis Altimires (No. 4 singles), Julien Couronne (No. 5 singles) and Fin Glowick (No. 6 singles). Sergio DeVilchez played No. 1 singles and posted a mark of 12-6 in dual action. Northwest was ranked No. 18 in the final ITA team rankings.
