Crall joins women's basketball staff

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University head women's basketball coach Buck Scheel has announced the hiring of Michaela Crall as the program's graduate assistant for the 2017-18 season. Crall comes to Northwest after playing basketball and serving as an undergraduate assistant coach at Wisconsin.

"We're looking forward to having Michaela join our coaching staff and assist in the development of our student-athletes," said Scheel. "Her experience gained at Wisconsin along with her personality and work ethic will be a great addition to our program."

Crall, a former standout at Olathe Northwest High School in Olathe, Kan., played three seasons for Wisconsin before moving into the undergraduate assistant coach position. On staff, Crall helped with game film breakdown and scouting responsibilities. She assisted with recruiting efforts, travel, special events and administration. She graduated from Wisconsin in May with her bachelor's degree in Sociology: Concentration in Analysis and Research. Crall will begin graduate school at Northwest this fall.

"Mikey has known for a long time that she wanted to get into college coaching and I am excited that she has the opportunity to join Coach Buck Scheel's staff at Northwest Missouri State. As our student assistant last season, she worked with our post players and helped the staff with recruiting, film breakdown, and travel.  Mikey is prepared for this opportunity and she is going to do a great job. Her Badger family is very proud of her." – John Tsipis, Head Women's Basketball Coach Wisconsin University
