KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's basketball team was picked 12th in the 2017-18 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll which was released by the conference office on Thursday. Central received seven first place votes and 158 total points. Pittsburg State was second with four first place votes and 157 points. Coaches cannot vote for their own institution in this poll.
Senior
Tanya Meyer led the MIAA at 19.6 points per game and was second with 9.9 rebounds. She started 21 games a year ago. Junior guard
Macy Williams was one of two Bearcats to start all 27 games last season.
Arbrie Benson started all 26 games she appeared in, averaging 11.5 points and 4.3 assists per contest.
The Bearcats begin the 2017-18 season on Friday, Nov. 10, against Ouachita Baptist in Bolivar, Mo., at noon. The first home action for Northwest will be on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m., against Peru State. Ticket information for Bearcat basketball can be found
