Game four fan primer: Fort Hays (Homecoming)

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Bearcat fans, in advance of Saturday's football game against Fort Hays State, the Northwest Missouri State University department of athletics would like to encourage fans to enjoy the game day experience at Bearcat Stadium.

Homecoming Weekend
It's Homecoming week in Maryville, Mo. If you are traveling into campus this weekend, get caught up on all the Northwest Missouri Homecoming events by visiting the university's schedule HERE.

On Friday night, Northwest will be inducting six individuals and two teams into the M-Club Hall of Fame. Steve Coppinger (football), Karen Hopewell (softball), Josh Lamberson (football), Xavier Omon (football), Allan Packer (wrestling), former Bearcat coach Scott Bostwick (football) along with the 1963-64 wrestling team and the 1996 women's tennis team will be honored Friday evening and recognized on field during halftime on Saturday.

Northwest Chief of Police Clarence Green has also put out an informational message for all fans wishing to attend events on campus this weekend.

Emporia State Game TV Broadcast

Northwest's final home game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 7, against Emporia State has been selected for a national television broadcast as the DII Football Showcase on the American Sports Network.

The game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m., has been moved back to a 6 p.m. kickoff at Bearcat Stadium in Maryville, Mo. Fans already with tickets for the game will still be able to use those tickets for entry to the 6 p.m. contest.

The American Sports Network has announced that the game will be picked up on KSMO 62 in Kansas City with more affiliates to be named at a later date. Fans will also be able to watch the game live, free of charge, on NCAA.com and the NCAA Sports Mobile App.

KZLX X-106 Tailgate
Bearcat Athletics and KZLX X-106 have partnered together for the 2015 season to enhance the Northwest student tailgating area. Northwest students are encouraged to attend the Hy-Vee Bearcat Zone and the X106 broadcast area. Each week the Sports Team from X106 will host a Game Day program featuring live interviews, game analysis and updates, along with plenty of music to keep the tailgate rolling. On Saturday, fans traveling to the game are encouraged to travel to campus on Icon/Country Club road, west of campus.

Hy-Vee Tailgate of the Game

Bearcat fans are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy tailgating festivities in the Hy-Vee Bearcat Zone just west of Bearcat Stadium. Each week one tailgate party will be selected as the Hy-Vee Tailgate of the Game and will receive a prize package compliments of your Maryville Hy-Vee. The rules are simple; each tailgate must have at least three (3) Hy-Vee brand items in their tailgating essentials and they must be showing their Bearcat Pride. Fans are encouraged to look for Northwest Athletic Director Mel Tjeerdsma and Maryville Hy-Vee Store Manager Chris Wiltfong each week in the Hy-Vee Bearcat Zone. Bearcat Basketball Tickets
The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's basketball seasons are right around the corner. Fans can purchase tickets by clicking HERE.

The Bearcat men's team was ranked No. 1 in the 2015-16 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll earlier this week. The Northwest women will have an exhibition game against Graceland on Wed., Nov. 4, against Graceland at 7 p.m. The first regular season game will be on Wed., Nov. 18, with the women taking on Quincy at 6 p.m. The men's first home game is on Tuesday, Nov. 24, against Central Methodist at 7:30 p.m.
